Nina Nastasia is a guitarist with a powerful set of lungs and a sardonic wit. A person perpetually with her shoulder to the wheel, she’s been on the road more or less continually since 1996.

In an era of ever-growing globalization, if you’ve been following Nina Nastasia over her last 27 years of touring, it’s been hard not to notice that she has always kept one foot in New York City. In fact, for nearly two decades she has had regular gigs at venues like Bowery Ballroom and Mercury Lounge right here in the Big Apple.

She and her band first started playing on this side of the Hudson River as part of an East Coast tour back in 2001. The first time she came here was as part of a duo with
